Dr Alex Mullen

An ardent fan of science and loves taking challenges head-on and believes in solutions defined by and for patients! Alex’s research is often multidisciplinary with a focus on clinical translation of technologies from bench to bedside and has included the design and development of an extensive portfolio of pharmaceutical products including tablets and capsules, vesicular drug delivery technologies, vaccines, pulmonary delivery systems, drug-eluting stents, and vaginal delivery systems.

He is a Professor of Pharmacy at the University of Strathclyde, is also a co-founder and ex-CSO of BDD Pharma. Prior to taking up academic role, he had worked with Reckitt Benckiser. His academic and commercial activities have captured significant funding and resulted >50 papers, 5 patents and 4 book chapters with the University licensing the vaccine and oral delivery technologies.
